About This Course
Welcome to MAPS Fundamentals!
Everything you need to know about how MAPS works, whether you’re an assessor, government official, development partner or just generally interested. This course contains eight modules that cover all technical and practical aspects of MAPS:
- 1. MAPS in practice
- 2. Managing MAPS
- 3. MAPS Framework and tools
- 4. Quantitative indicators in MAPS
- 5. Making MAPS work
- 6. Validation and quality assurance in MAPS
- 7. MAPS Sustainable Public Procurement
- 8. MAPS Professionalisation
All the modules consist of parts where you need to listen, elements you must read and things you must do. In every course there are knowledge checks. The purpose of these is you make you reflect on and use what you have learned in the course. You will be graded based on your answers, and a minimum of 80 pct. correct answers is required to pass the course.
The modules are self-paced. All sections of a module, including knowledge checks, must be completed in order to pass the module.
For each module there is a reading list. This contains material that is considered prerequisite for the module. This means that you should familiarize yourself with the material in the list. The content of the module and the knowledge check will assume that you have done so.
