Online Course MAPS E-learning Programme

Learn the fundamentals of MAPS and how to be a MAPS assessor with this online programme. From July 1, 2024, it will be mandatory for all assessments that at least the lead assessor has obtained the MAPS Certification.

Privacy Policy

The MAPS Secretariat is committed to protecting the personal data of users of its websites, which are an essential tool for advancing our mission and programme of work. The MAPS Secretariat is hosted by the OECD and as such follow the OECD’s approach for data protection.

This privacy policy describes the types of personal data we collect, how we use it, who has access and for how long. It also provides information on the rights provided to website users under the OECD Data Protection Rules : OECD Data Protection Rules.

How we collect and use personal data

We collect personal data through the use of our websites in two ways: data you directly provide to us and data generated by your activity on the website.

Regarding data you directly provide to us:

When creating an account at this website, we ask you to provide personal data, including full name, email address, gender, country affiliation and sectorial affiliation. The data will be used to create a diploma for you when you have completed the courses in the MAPS e-learning programme (name), for functionalities relevant to your account such as re-setting password (email address), for communicating with you (name, email address), and for statistical monitoring of the use of the MAPS e-learning programme (gender, country affiliation, sector affiliation).

Additionally, when taking the MAPS Certification Exam, we ask you to upload a photo of yourself as well as a copy of photo identification. This is used for a one-time authentication, to confirm that it is you taking the exam.It will be used for no other purpose and will be deleted immediately after this one-time use. We ask you to submit your CV as well, using a form. This is to confirm that you fulfil the requirements of the Profile of MAPS Assessors. It will be used for no other purpose and will be deleted immediately after this one-time use: Profile of MAPS Assessors.

The personal data we collect will be stored on the platform hosted on the Amazon Web Services cloud in France and operated by MOOCit SAS, except for your CV, which is submitted directly to the MAPS Secretariat through a form. It will be retained for a period of three years from the user's last activity on the e-learning platform. All data used for application for the MAPS Certification Exam (authentication and CV) is deleted immediately after use. Only the MAPS Secretariat and MOOCit have access to your data. The statistics compiled for monitoring the use of MAPS e-learning may be publicized, however, it will not be possible to identify individual users from this.

Regarding data generated by your activity on the website:

To ensure the effective functioning and security of our websites and to better understand visitor behavioural patterns, as you browse the website and participate in courses, we automatically collect log information (such as the pages you visit, the time/date of your visit as well as your internet protocol [IP] address), and device and software information such as your browser specifications and operating system.

This information is collected using various technologies, including cookies which are small text files stored in your browser. If you have registered and are logged-in, your browsing activity is linked to your user credentials so that we can personalise your experience on our websites, including for future visits.

When you participate in the courses on the website, we automatically collect information to track attendance, both individual and overall, of the progress and completion of courses and to analyse statistics on learner performance. This is used for the continuous improvement of the MAPS e-learning programme.

Links to other websites

The site may provide access to links to other sites published by other content providers. These other sites are not under our control, and you acknowledge and agree that we are not responsible for the collection and use of your information by such sites. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of each site you visit and use.

How to contact us or exercise your rights

Under the OECD's Rules, you have rights to access and rectify your personal data, as well as to object to its processing, and request erasure in certain circumstances. Users can access and change their account data (name, email address, country affiliation, sector affiliation) at any time themselves or by contacting contact@mapsinitiative.org.
